Pay conflict - Private bus industry ends pay disagreement, no more strikes planned.

Private bus company employees in Hesse are set to receive increased compensation, as announced by both Union Verdi and the employers. This means that no further strikes are expected. As stated by Verdi, employees will receive a total of 3000 euros inflation adjustment bonus, distributed in three installments starting in July. Salaries are also set to increase by five percent at the beginning of 2025 and another five percent increment each at the start of the two following years. The collective bargaining agreement will remain in effect until March 31, 2027.

Initially, Verdi had demanded two 8.5% wage hikes, 3000 euros for inflation adjustments, and paid breaks for around 6000 employees. In response to these requests, Verdi issued a five-day strike warning for drivers which put a dent in various bus lines across Frankfurt, smaller cities, and rural areas. However, the strikes didn't affect bus services in Kassel, Darmstadt, or Wiesbaden, as they operate under different collective agreements.
