Prisoner exchange: Several Russian released land in US

Russia, Belarus, and on the other side, five NATO countries, including the USA and Germany, carried out the prisoner exchange on Thursday afternoon, involving 24 detainees and two minors. The exchange was facilitated through Turkey. It was the largest of its kind since the end of the Cold War.

Russia released 15 prisoners, including four with German passports; the release of a German initially sentenced to death and later pardoned in Belarus was also secured. In return, according to the Russian FSB, eight Russian prisoners and two minors were able to return to Russia.

The following prisoner exchange between Russia, NATO countries, and Belarus involved 24 detainees and two minors, marked as the largest since the end of the Cold War. This exchange also included the release of a German originally sentenced to death in Belarus.
