Frankfurt: A Look into the Heart of Germany - Prior to the European elections, there were demonstrations and raves.

A diverse group is organizing numerous demonstrations and activities in Frankfurt this Saturday (1:00 PM) before the European elections. The rally is labeled "V.O.T.Y. - Vote of the Year," and various routes will pass through the city. In addition, there will be actions and a "Demo-Rave" at multiple Frankfurt locations. The main event will commence at the Alte Oper at 5:00 PM, with climate campaigner Luisa Neubauer and comedian Enissa Amani anticipated to appear. The organizers predict 15,000 participants.

Numerous actions are planned throughout the town: Taunusanlage will serve as a "democracy space," enabling clubs and political groups to display their projects. The triathlon and cycling groups of Eintracht Frankfurt plan a "Democratriathlon" at the Willy-Brandt-Platz, while the Theater Antagon, the Young Theater, and the MainVokal Choir will offer performances at the Hauptwache.

The event primarily targets young people, as they can vote at 16 years old in the EU elections for the first time. "The objective is to prevent a rise in support for far-right parties and persuade voters to favor democratic parties."

On Sunday, June 9th, voting locations will be operational in Hessen and throughout Germany from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Several other EU countries have already held their elections on days prior to this date. For instance, voting occurred in the Netherlands on Thursday.
