- Prior to the commencement of the transfer window, Magdeburg acquires defender Loric.
The 2nd Division team 1. FC Magdeburg has made a last-minute transfer move, bringing in French defender Samuel Loric. According to the club's statement, the 24-year-old is versatile and can play on either side of the defensive line. He's making the switch from French 2nd division side US Quevilly.
Otmar Schork, the sports director, stated, "Given Herbert Bockhorn's severe injury and expected long absence, we had no choice but to stay active in the transfer market. With Samuel, we think we've found the right fit for our outside defender positions." Bockhorn suffered a torn cruciate ligament and will be out for an extended duration. Christian Titz, the head coach, mentioned that Loric is a "fast, agile, and robust player who can perform on both sides of the defensive line." In 2021, Loric played three matches in the top league for FC Lorient.
The French defender Samuel Loric, now a part of 1. FC Magdeburg, previously played for US Quevilly in France's second division. With Bockhorn's extended absence due to a torn cruciate ligament, Loric's versatility and capabilities on both sides of the defensive line could prove crucial for Magdeburg in the upcoming matches.
