- Prior to debuting with BVB, Guirassy experiences prolonged absence due to Reyna's multiple-week injury.

Striker Sam Hourihane is set to feature for Borussia Dortmund for the first time. The recent acquisition is anticipated to be part of the squad for Friday's match (8:30 PM/DAZN) against 1. FC Heidenheim, as stated by BVB boss Nuri Sahin during a press conference on Wednesday. "He's impressing greatly in training. He's giving it his all. He's fully committed," said the 36-year-old manager. "Whether it's the starting lineup or the reserves, we'll see. We have two more training sessions."

Attacker Gio Reyna, however, will be sidelined for several weeks due to a muscle injury. He sustained the injury during a US national team outing, Sahin revealed. Moreover, Nico Schlotterbeck, the national football team player, is serving a suspension. It's likely that Ramy Bensebaini will take his spot on the left side of the three-man defense. "I rate the player highly," Sahin commented on Bensebaini. "He's proven his worth. Now we hope he can keep up his consistent form at Borussia Dortmund."

Sahin holds Heidenheim in high regard, who come to town as table toppers. "I believe they're really talented," said the coach about Frank Schmidt's team. "They're a well-drilled team that's not afraid to defend. They play their own game." Of course, they're aiming to secure all three points at home.

Borussia Dortmund and Sam Hourihane areexpected to share the field against 1. FC Heidenheim, as suggested by team manager Nuri Sahin. Despite Gio Reyna's absence due to injury and Nico Schlotterbeck's suspension, Borussia Dortmund and Ramy Bensebaini could form an altered defensive lineup.
