Princess Sophie-Alexandra of Bavaria gives birth to a son

The great-grandson of the last Bavarian king and his wife have had a child. They are looking forward to the time together as a family of three.

Heir to the House of Bayern**: Princess Sophie-Alexandra of Bavaria welcomed a healthy baby boy on Tuesday. The infant, named Rupprecht Theodor Maria Prince of Bavaria, is doing well, according to a spokesperson for the Duke of Bavaria's administration in Munich. Both mother and child are in excellent health.

"Princess Sophie and Prince Ludwig of Bavaria are now enjoying the first days with their newborn son," the spokesperson said. The couple is overjoyed and looks forward to their life together with their son. Images of the baby will be released at a later date.

The great-grandson of the last King of Bavaria, Ludwig III, and Sophie-Alexandra Evekink, a political and criminal science expert of Dutch-Canadian descent, married in a grand ceremony in Munich last May. The celebration, following a small civil ceremony, was attended by many guests and received great public interest.

The baby, Rupprecht Theodor Maria Prince of Bavaria, was born in the esteemed Bavarian royal family. During their time in Bavaria, Princess Sophie-Alexandra and Prince Ludwig are cherishing every moment with their newborn.
