Ex-NBA star Dragan Tarlac (51) takes over as sports director at Bayern's basketball squad, replacing Daniele Baiesi who headed back to Italy following a decade in Germany and securing a second consecutive double title with Bayern in early July.

Tarlac, having represented his nation on the court, is deemed an "unrivaled pro with broad connections due to the diverse roles he's held in European basketball." He'll now jump into the thick of things with us, managing the hectic daily life of an Euroleague team, and contributing his insights to improve our operations, noted CEO Marko Pesic.

Tarlac kicked off his journey with Red Star Belgrade, afterward spending significant time in Greece with Olympiakos Piraeus. Prior to that, he suited up for 43 matches with the Chicago Bulls in the NBA.

His last playing spell was in Moscow with ZSKA. Notably, he served as director of the Serbian national team for three years, clinching an Olympic bronze in Paris 2024 against Germany, championed by superstar Nikola Jokic.

Dragan Tarlac's extensive NBA experience with the Chicago Bulls will undoubtedly bring valuable perspectives to Bayern's basketball squad. As the new sports director, he is expected to utilize his broad connections within European basketball to enhance the team's performance.
