Community undergoes transformation - Previous minister announces new leader for Baden-Württemberg Foundation.

Theresia Bauer, the ex-Science Minister of Baden-Württemberg, will be the new CEO at the Baden-Württemberg Foundation. The Supervisory Board made the announcement on a Wednesday in Stuttgart. Bauer will take over from Christoph Dahl, who retired in April, starting June 15th.

Theresia Bauer was Baden-Württemberg's Science Minister from 2011 to 2022. She had to give up this position in 2022 because she was running for Heidelberg's Mayor. However, she lost the race to the current non-party Mayor Eckart Würzner.

Winfried Kretschmann, the Green Party's Minister President and Chairman of the Foundation's Supervisory Board, commented, "The Baden-Württemberg Foundation has found an expert at the intersection of research, education, culture, and the foundation sector in Theresia Bauer."

This foundation, founded in 2000, is among Germany's largest private foundations, with an estimated 2.3 billion euros in assets. It offers support for research, scholarships for students, and cultural projects, among others.
