Presentation of the Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize
The Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize will be awarded on Monday (18:00) in the city's Old Town Hall. Two manuscripts and a book for young people have been shortlisted, the city announced. The jury nominated David Blum with his youth book "Kollektorgang", Katja Brett and Gregor Bonnet with their picture book manuscript "Wer auch immer" and Judith Mohr with her youth book manuscript "Mein Leben, das Chaos und ich".
According to the city of Oldenburg, the prize is intended to help promote innovative and creative ideas from as yet unknown artists. The award is endowed with 8,000 euros and is presented as part of the Oldenburg Children's and Young People's Book Fair (Kibum). The fair runs until November 21.
The Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize, known for promoting innovative literature, will be handed out to one of the shortlisted authors during the Oldenburg Children's and Young People's Book Fair. This year, children and youth can look forward to engaging with authors such as David Blum, Katja Brett and Gregor Bonnet, and Judith Mohr, as they showcase their awarded works at the fairs' events and literary award ceremonies.
