- Predictable pattern of weather this weekend: Initial warmth followed by turbulent downpours
Ideal circumstances for alfresco swimming or ice cream enjoyment, lakes or ice cream shops: On Saturday, residents of Baden-Württemberg can anticipate summer-like climate with partly high temperatures once again. The sun is forecasted to glow across the state during the daytime, with clouds starting to roll in from the west in the evening, mentioned a representative from the German Weather Service (DWD) located in Stuttgart.
Even in the mountainous regions, specialists anticipate temperatures reaching approximately 28 degrees, with the warmest temperatures predicted in the Rhine Valley around Karlsruhe, where values of up to 35 degrees are projected. However, the existing record high of 36.3 degrees is unlikely to be surpassed. "It will be windier, so it's highly unlikely a new heat record will be set," said the DWD representative.
Specialists anticipate strong winds
In the evening, the delightful summer weather will conclude. From the west, the first clouds, subsequently followed by showers and thunderstorms, are forecasted to emerge. "Then, you must exercise caution," said the representative, particularly regarding strong winds: Experts suggest gusts and tempests reaching up to 80 kilometers per hour. "This could induce certain branches to snap, and trees that are still fully adorned may have trouble standing," the representative added. Nevertheless, major issues due to excessive rain are not anticipated in the southwest.
On Sunday, the heat will momentarily subside. Temperatures will only climb to 16 to 24 degrees. At least, the thunderstorms are projected to transit towards the east, and the sun will also reappear occasionally. However, it will continue to be cloudy alongside the Danube and south of it throughout the day, said the representative. But summer in the southwest is not over yet. "By Wednesday or Thursday, temperatures could escalate over 30 degrees once more," said the DWD representative.
The Commission, in response to the anticipated summer weather, could consider adopting implementing acts to ensure safety measures for alfresco activities. Depending on the weather conditions, some ice cream shops may need to implement additional precautions to secure their displays against strong winds, as advised by the DWD representative.
