Before the European Football Championship kicks off, famous musicians like Ed Sheeran, Nelly Furtado, and Mark Forster will perform at the Fanfest in Munich's Theresienwiese to entertain fans. Around 60,000 spectators are projected to attend the event on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. This is 30,000 fewer attendees than initially anticipated. According to a spokesperson for FKP Scorpio Concert Productions, the original aim was 90,000, but the site has been reduced since then.

The presale for the initial 95 euro tickets took place in March. Two days before the Fanfest, where acts such as Mark Forster, Tim Bendzko, and singer Dylan were also supposed to perform, there were still tickets offered for about half the price on the large ticket provider Eventim – around 48 euros. "We're currently just under 60,000, but will definitely exceed this number by the time of the event, filling the venue to capacity," said the organizer's representative.

The European Football Championship commences on Friday in Munich with Germany playing Scotland in the opening match. "Music and football unite people. It is this common bond that reinforces our civil society and our democracy," remarked tournament director and football world champion Philipp Lahm, who had earlier met Sheeran.
