Kitchen fire - Pot with candle wax causes fire

A cauldron of candle wax caused a fire in a house in the Traunstein district. The 75-year-old resident of the house had placed the cauldron on the stove in the Grabenstätt community in the afternoon of the previous day and left it unattended for a short time, as the police reported. The wax caught fire, and the flames spread to the kitchen.

The fire department was able to prevent the fire from spreading to a neighboring building. The resident sustained minor injuries during the attempt to extinguish the fire and was treated on site by the paramedics. The police also suspected a mild gas poisoning. According to initial estimates, a damage in the mid-five-figure range was caused by the fire.

The fire occurred in the District of Traunstein, specifically in the Grabenstätt community of Upper Bavaria. The melted candle wax from the cauldron was the cause of the fire. Upon arrival, the police discovered that a woman living in the house had left the cauldron unattended on the stove, leading to the fire.
