After a house fire in the village of Poseritz on the island of Rügen, experts may have discovered human bone fragments in the ruins. According to the police, a forensic examination will determine if these are indeed human remains. The fact that only fragments were found was attributed to the intensity of the fire.

Moreover, a window apparently damaged before the fire was identified. As a technical defect has been ruled out, the police are investigating for arson.

The fire in the village in the Vorpommern-Rügen district broke out on Saturday evening. 80 emergency response personnel were reportedly involved in the operation. The damage is estimated to be around 250,000 Euros.
