Possible hit-and-run in accident with injured cyclist
A cyclist has been seriously injured in an accident in the Black Forest. An unknown driver may have committed a hit-and-run, as the police reported on Saturday. It is suspected that an unknown car had overtaken the cyclist too closely, which could have caused the man to fall.
The 51-year-old cyclist was riding downhill on a road from Thurner (Breisgau/Hochschwarzwald district) towards Buchenbach on Saturday afternoon. He was taken to hospital after the accident. His life was not in danger.
The police are investigating whether the traffic in the area around the accident site could provide any clues about the identity of the hit-and-run driver. Despite the serious injuries, medical staff are hopeful that the bicycle rider will make a full recovery.
