Portman advises against early start to film career
Oscar winner Natalie Portman ("Black Swan") advises young people not to get into the film business too early. "I don't mean in general, but as children," the 42-year-old told the industry magazine "Variety".
Portman had already experienced her breakthrough in cinema as a 13-year-old in the thriller "Leon the Professional" (1994). She feels it was almost a stroke of luck that she was not harmed. She also has her "overprotective, wonderful" parents to thank for that. The actress does not believe that children should work. "I think children should play and go to school."
Despite her early success in the movie industry at 13 with "Leon the Professional," Natalie Portman believes that children should focus on playing and attending school, rather than starting their film careers too early. Despite starting her film career at a young age, Portman is grateful for her overprotective parents who helped shield her from potential harm in the industry.
