For those interested in engaging with candidates on substance ahead of the upcoming state election in Brandenburg, a dedicated election portal is now available at abgeordnetenwatch.de. Here, users can view candidate profiles, ask questions, and even engage in dialogue, according to the project leaders. This initiative has been offered and utilized during previous state elections, attracting around one million visits in 2019.

Candidates have their own profiles

Approximately 350 direct candidates are vying for a seat in the Brandenburg state parliament. To assist voters in making their first-choice decision, the dialogue portal provides election assistance. Each candidate has their own profile page, featuring a brief bio, political goals, and questions from citizens along with the candidates' responses.

All questions and answers remain publicly accessible even after the election. The portal also publishes party election programs and the state election law.

The association Parlamentwatch e.V. manages abgeordnetenwatch.de, with a team of around 25 employees and 12 freelancers. The association is the project's sponsor and is funded through donations and sponsorship contributions.
