Poll: A third of Germans think their national team has a chance at winning the European Championship.

The faith in Germany's national team is still intact as per the study leader, Markus Voeth. When asked about the potential winners of the European Championship (EM), 27% of the participants believe France has the best chances of bagging the title, followed by Spain with 11% and England with 9%.

However, almost 50% of the respondents think that Germany might be eliminated before the semifinals. This is a decrease of 10% in comparison to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where more people seemed to hope that Germany could make it to the finals.

Perhaps due to the controversial 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Germans are looking at the European Championship, hosted in their own country, with renewed enthusiasm, as asserted by the co-author, Tom Huhnke. The survey revealed that 80% of the respondents wish to watch as many games as possible, while only 20% had this intention during the Qatar World Cup.

Toni Kroos was recognized as the most charming and highly effective player in the survey. Newcomers Maximilian Beier and Robin Koch were perceived as the weakest players.

The national coach, Julian Nagelsmann, has strong backing from the people, according to the study. Nearly 60% of respondents want to extend his contract ahead of the EM.

With matches to be held from June 14 to July 14, these cities in Germany will serve as the host cities: Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Dortmund, Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen, Stuttgart, and Düsseldorf.
