Meanwhile, the police continue to negotiate with the hostage-taker. An armed man is holding his four-year-old daughter at the airport. According to the police, the background to this is a custody dispute.
The disruption to air traffic at Hamburg Airport is causing significant delays and cancellations. Despite the ongoing hostage situation, there have been reports of some minor instances of petty crime in the area surrounding the airport.
