The Karlsruhe Police urges people, in light of the severe weather conditions, to avoid non-essential travel. "If you are traveling in the affected area, please check beforehand which routes are passable," a statement read. "We ask the public to regularly inform themselves about the current situation and follow the instructions of the on-site emergency services." The road maintenance department of the district is constantly patrolling the federal roads in the affected area with trucks to test the accessibility via the road network, the district fire brigade association announced.

The Police in Karlsruhe are also working closely with the road maintenance department to ensure safe travel, checking the condition of federal roads. In case of an emergency, it's crucial to obey the instructions provided by the local emergency services.
