- Police searching the woods for a body
Police searched a portion of the Paintner Forest in the Kelheim district in their quest for the mortal remains of a woman from Regensburg who has been missing since 2007. The search operation was initiated following a tip from a man in North Rhine-Westphalia who identified himself as a "seer" and provided information about the possible location of the woman's body via email, as stated by a spokesperson for the Police Headquarters of Upper Palatinate in Regensburg.
The tipster, who appeared in the ZDF show "Aktenzeichen XY... Ungelöst" in mid-July, led the police to search the forest area. However, no details about the results of the search were immediately available.
The missing woman is Kerstin Lee Langley from Regensburg. Her brother reported her missing in the summer of 2007 when she was 39 years old. According to investigations, her then-partner claimed that she had left him and driven off with an old friend in a dark car with a Deggendorf license plate. So far, the police have been unable to identify this "old friend." Additionally, there is no evidence suggesting the partner's involvement in her disappearance.
As per the police statement in the ZDF show, all possibilities are being considered, from voluntary disappearance to accident or homicide. The Bavarian State Criminal Office has offered a reward of 10,000 euros for any useful information.
The tipster mentioned watching the woman's case on the TV show "Aktenzeichen XY... Ungelöst," which encouraged him to provide information. After the search in Paintner Forest, the police continue to watch news and discuss the case on various television shows to raise awareness and gather more leads.
