Police search school during threat situation
Following the alarm at a district school in Hamburg-Blankenese, emergency services are currently searching the building. Pupils were escorted out and taken to a barracks by bus, the police announced on Wednesday on the X platform, formerly Twitter. "I am not aware of any injuries so far," said a police spokesperson. According to the statement, there were around 1,000 pupils in the building. Two teenagers or children are said to have been in the school with a firearm on Wednesday afternoon and may have threatened a teacher. The police spoke of a threat situation, not an assault.
After identifying potential threats, the police are intensifying their search within the school for any signs of the armed individuals. Due to the ongoing emergency, nearby schools have been advised to implement additional security measures.
