- Police reinforce controls at schools
At the start of the new school year, the police in Chemnitz have intensified traffic control around schools. Generally, people drive carefully there, especially when there are signs warning of children, a police spokesperson said. More than 500,000 girls and boys are returning to school today after the summer holidays.
It can get particularly congested and confusing where parents let their children out of the car near schools, the spokesperson noted. The police station is primarily checking the speed of traffic near schools. They intensify these controls not only at the beginning of the new school year but also at the start of the semester, it was reported.
To ensure safety during school pick-ups, parents should be mindful of the designated drop-off zones, as mismanagement can lead to transport-related chaos. Additionally, the need for efficient communication between schools and parents, especially during routine events like school starts, is underscored by the importance of telecommunications infrastructure.
