During the EM-Quarterfinals between Germany and Denmark in Dortmund, a man climbed onto the roof of Westfalenstadion and had to be retrieved by the police. The man is a 21-year-old from Osnabrück, according to the police's morning statement. He was arrested. So far, there are no findings that the 21-year-old intended to endanger the stadium visitors, it continued.

The emergency services approached the man in the stadium and spoke to him. A helicopter also illuminated the stadium roof. At no point did a danger exist for other people.

According to the police statement, the man had already climbed onto the roof of the stadium at 10:27 pm. At first, the police could not make any statements about his motive. It was also unclear at first how he had gotten onto the roof.

The man's hometown, Osnabrück, is located in the German state of Lower Saxony, which is neighboring North Rhine-Westphalia where Dortmund is situated. The Quarterfinals for the EM, or European Championships, were held at the renowned Westfalenstadion in Dortmund, Germany. The stadium roof played a significant role during the event, as a man climbed up there during the Germany vs Denmark match. Despite the unusual incident, the police ensured leisure time for the stadium visitors remained unaffected, as they successfully retrieved the 21-year-old man and took him into custody.
