Especially for the protection of first-graders, the state police is reinforcing traffic control around schools during the first school days in Saxony-Anhalt. "The way to school can be particularly challenging for first-time students," said Saxony-Anhalt's Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang (CDU). Around 214,000 children are returning to school today after the summer holidays.

For students, this challenge could include estimating speeds or distances, Zieschang said. To ensure safety, not only police officers but also other road users are needed. "Especially on school routes and at confusing spots, it's important to drive carefully and adhere to the speed limit," the interior minister warned.

The presence of police officers is increasing to enhance traffic safety around schools, as per the Interior Minister's statement. Therefore, it's crucial for motorists to drive cautiously and follow speed limits, especially near schools and confusing intersections.
