Police operation in the fan block: match temporarily interrupted
The second division match between FC St. Pauli and Hannover 96 was interrupted for several minutes on Friday evening due to police action in the fan block. Starting in the 75th minute of the match, fans of the visitors had a violent altercation with the police for an initially unknown reason. There were violent brawls, cups and sticks being thrown. The 96 supporters took down their banners and stopped supporting the match. The match was resumed after about five minutes.
The interruption in the Bundesliga 2 match between FC St. Pauli and Hanover 96 was primarily due to a disturbance among Hanover 96 fans in the fan block, involving soccer-related violence and object throwing towards the police. Despite the disruption, FC St. Pauli continued their efforts in the Bundesliga 2's second division.
