European Football Championship - Police officers turn away 12 hooligans during border controls
The Federal Police have denied entry to twelve apparently violent football fans at the external borders of Baden-Württemberg. This was announced today by the Federal Police Directorate in Stuttgart. The border controls were reintroduced on June 7th due to the Football European Championship. A 23-year-old Italian was sent back. An investigation is being conducted against him for the suspicion of a serious breach of the peace. So far, a total of 39,788 persons (up to 27th June) have been controlled at the Swiss and French borders. A total of 57 arrest warrants have been executed and 757 unlawful entries have been detected.
