Police officer shows gesture of Turkish extremists? Investigation
The Thuringian police respond to a photo allegedly showing an officer with the so-called Turkish wolf salute. This hand gesture is a well-known symbol of the right-wing extremist Turkish "Ülkücü" movement. The photo on Platform X is said to show a Thuringian police officer posing with this gesture in a kebab store in Arnstadt. The Thuringian police explained on Friday on X, formerly Twitter: "We have secured the relevant image material and forwarded the incident to the internal investigations department for further investigation." Thuringia's Interior Minister Georg Maier (SPD) also responded to the photo on X: "No go. Internal investigations are already underway."
The Thuringian police are now investigating the incident where a photo allegedly shows one of their officers making the Turkish wolf salute, a gesture associated with right-wing extremist Turkish "Ülkücü" movement. If the internal investigation confirms the officer's involvement, strict disciplinary actions may be taken against him, as the Turkish wolf salute is considered a symbol of extremism.
