Threat situation - Police: No evidence of injuries at the Lehrte job center
The Hanover police have no evidence of injuries in the threat situation at a job center in Lehrte. This was announced by a spokesperson on Thursday. The arrested suspect threatened employees and frightened customers, as a police spokesperson confirmed on site. He is said to have been carrying a weapon. He would not say anything about the man's identity. It is still unclear whether there were other people involved or whether the man acted alone.
The police therefore called in additional heavily armed forces. The large contingent combed the entire building, which also houses a savings bank, in the morning. Officers took people out of the center, as a dpa reporter observed. The area around the job center on Burgdorfer Straße in Lehrte has been cordoned off.

The threat at the Hanover employment office in Lehrte was classified as a serious case of criminality. Germany's Lower Saxony region has been on high alert, with this incident serving as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance and security in such public places. The police, in their efforts to maintain peace and order, taught locals about emergency procedures and the importance of reporting suspicious activities. Despite the tense situation, the job center was briefly reopened to allow employees who lived nearby to retrieve their belongings.
