Police: Man dies after medical emergency in detention cell

According to the police, a 20-year-old man has died following a medical emergency in a detention cell in Upper Bavaria. According to the Upper Bavaria North Police Headquarters on Thursday, the incident occurred on November 3 at the Ebersberg police station. The man had been detained there just a few hours earlier. Officers had begun resuscitation attempts in the detention room.

The 20-year-old was then taken to hospital by ambulance, where he died on Wednesday evening. The Munich II public prosecutor's office investigated and ordered an autopsy of the body to determine the cause of death.

Despite the urgent resuscitation efforts by the police, the man's condition worsened during transport to the hospital in Upper Bavaria. In light of this emergency, the local police have initiated an investigation to understand the circumstances leading to the man's death in police custody.
