Munich area - Police investigate possible connection between four fires
The police are investigating whether there is a connection between four fires with an estimated damage of several hundred thousand euros. They are investigating in all directions, and political arson cannot be ruled out, a police spokeswoman said on Friday.
The first three fires were last Monday. The police are already investigating a connection between the cases. A further case has now been added to these ongoing investigations: On Friday morning, two forestry machines caught fire in Forstenrieder Park ( Munich district). No one was injured. The damage is estimated at a six-figure sum.
In the first three cases, a cable shaft on a bridge caught fire within a few hours, followed by a working machine in Forstenrieder Park and in Perlacher Forst. Nobody was injured either, according to reports. The damage was estimated to be at least 250,000 euros.

The fires in Munich and Upper Bavaria are causing concern, with the latest incident occurring in Forstenrieder Park. The police in Bavaria are intensifying their investigations, considering the possibility of a criminal arsonist at large in the region. Despite the ongoing investigations, the cause of the fires remains unknown, with potential links to political motives still under scrutiny.
