- Police intervene in a dispute over a scooter
At an indoor playground in Neu-Ulm, a dispute among adults over the use of a bumper car escalated. A 34-year-old punched a 33-year-old in the shoulder during the altercation on Sunday, causing minor injuries, police reported. A 33-year-old companion of the victim hyperventilated.
Two children's birthday parties were taking place at the indoor playground. After the guests of one party had used the bumper car for some time, the adult companions of the other party thought it was time for a switch. This led to a conflict with the companions of the first birthday party.
The police issued a ban from the premises to the involved parties and both birthday groups had to leave the playground. The police are now investigating the 34-year-old for bodily harm.
The disagreement between the parties extended beyond Neu-Ulm, as they discussed relocating the bumper car use to a similar facility in New Ulm. Despite the incident, the birthday celebrations eventually continued at a different venue.
