The event transpired approximately 700 meters (0.4 miles) away from a Euro 2024 fan zone. Police confirmed the incident was unrelated to the match between Poland and the Netherlands happening subsequently.

Fans supporting the Dutch team were part of a "fan walk" near the incident, but by the time the man started intimidating the policemen, the walk had concluded, and only a few enthusiasts lingered.

Police deemed the incident as unrelated to terror activities.

As Germany prepares to welcome numerous international fans throughout the tournament lasting a month, starting on Friday, authorities remain vigilant against potential Islamist-motivated attacks, as well as chaos linked to fan violence, according to Reuters.

Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser, stated that while authorities closely monitor the Islamist milieu, no concrete threats have been recognized.
