A drunk driver fell asleep in a traffic jam on the A2 on Saturday. A patrol had to wake him up, as the police reported on Sunday. A subsequent alcohol test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.54 per mille. Preliminary proceedings were initiated against him for drunk driving.

Traffic - Police have to wake a driver who has fallen asleep in a traffic jam

A drunk driver fell asleep in a traffic jam on the A2 on Saturday. A patrol had to wake him up, as the police reported on Sunday. A subsequent alcohol test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.54 per mille. Preliminary proceedings were initiated against him for drunk driving.

Due to a technical defect, a truck in the area of the major construction site near Burg (Jerichower Land district) had made it impossible to continue driving. Traffic was backed up for several kilometers. The 45-year-old car driver had fallen asleep in his vehicle in this traffic jam.
