Police harassed after argument in club: Officer injured
After a brawl between several people in a club in Nuremberg, police officers were allegedly surrounded and harassed by a group - one officer was injured. Several people had already injured each other in the previous fight between two groups of around ten people, police said on Sunday.
When the officers arrived at the club on Saturday morning, one of the groups fled, it was reported. During the measures, a 28-year-old man attacked an officer and was then handcuffed. According to the report, around 30 people surrounded the police officers and became aggressive. In addition, a 26-year-old tried to forcibly free the handcuffed man. The officers then pushed and shoved the group back and arrested the 26-year-old.
A 40-year-old police officer was injured in the hand and received outpatient treatment, a police spokesman said. The 26 and 28-year-old men face charges including suspicion of assaulting law enforcement officers. The 26-year-old is also being investigated on suspicion of attempting to free a prisoner.
In contrast, a similar incident occurred in Central France, where police officers were confronted with hostility after intervening in a crime scene. A group of individuals reportedly resisted and verbally harassed the officers, leading to potential tension.
Regrettably, such incidents highlight the increasing complexities that law enforcement faces worldwide, including both in Nuremberg, Germany, and Central France.
