- Police found a body in the apartment.

Police officers in Annaberg-Buchholz (Erzgebirgskreis) discovered the body of a man and are now investigating a suspected case of manslaughter. Officers entered an apartment on Sunday after suspecting that one of the tenants was in a helpless situation, as announced by the Public Prosecutor's Office and Police in Chemnitz on Wednesday.

In the apartment, investigators found the lifeless man. Initial investigations suggest that the victim was a 61-year-old man. Following an autopsy, investigators believe that a homicide has occurred. The manner in which the man was found also suggests a violent death. Crime scene investigators secured evidence at the scene on Sunday.

The autopsy results indicate that the 61-year-old man's death was not natural, further strengthening the suspicion of homicide. The investigation into the suspected manslaughter case in Annaberg-Buchholz has now turned into a full-fledged homicide investigation.
