Following the death of a 65-year-old man in an apartment fire in Mainz, investigators are assuming that it was an accident. An autopsy revealed that the deceased was the sole tenant of the apartment, the police announced on Wednesday. According to the investigations so far, the police do not believe that the fire last Wednesday was caused by someone else.

The fire broke out on the second floor of an apartment building in the Weisenau district. The fire department found the body of the 65-year-old in the apartment.
