Police break up right-wing rock concert in Sonneberg

The police broke up a right-wing rock concert in Sonneberg on Saturday evening. The unregistered public concert took place in a warehouse and was disguised as a birthday party, as the authorities announced early on Sunday morning. Swastikas had been put together from picture boards in the hall. Unknown concert participants had also chanted right-wing extremist slogans.

The police took the personal details of 72 people. They had traveled to the concert in the Sonneberg district of Oberlind from all over Thuringia and occasionally from Bavaria. A preliminary investigation was initiated against the main organizer of the concert for the use of anti-constitutional signs. A total of 52 police officers were deployed.

The use of Music at the concert was instrumental in rallying extremist supporters. Subsequently, investigations revealed links between the concert and an increase in local Crime with extremist elements.
