On a thieving spree - Police arrest peanut thieves

The police in Heppenheim, southwestern Germany, have arrested two suspected nut thieves. The 30-year-old woman and the 36-year-old man had torn nuts from an automatic vending machine and intended to escape with them, according to the police. A witness observed this on a Thursday evening and placed a call to the emergency services. He wanted to confront the two individuals, but was then threatened by the man. The arriving police officers used pepper spray during the arrest, and the alleged thieving couple was subsequently taken to a holding cell for the night. The duo is also suspected of damaging a soft ice cream and a coffee machine. The damage, according to the police, amounts to approximately 1,500 Euros.

The arrested individuals were from Heppenheim, a town in the state of Hesse. The woman and the man were apprehended near an automatic nut vending machine, where they were accused of committing a crime. The police in the area are also investigating reports of damage to a soft ice cream and a coffee machine, allegedly caused by "thieves' tour" of automatic machines.
