- Police are searching for a missing 13-year-old girl.
The police have been intensively searching since yesterday for a missing boy from Hassendorf near Rotenburg on the Wümme. The 13-year-old is reportedly dependent on medication and it cannot be ruled out that he may be in a helpless situation. The child was searched for until late at night with the support of the fire department.
"We currently suspect that he ran away from home," police spokesman Heiner van der Werp said in the morning. The boy was last seen at his school in Sottrum on Wednesday morning. "He is said to have boarded a bus," said van der Werp. The boy has run away from home several times before. "It seems like a different situation than in other missing person cases." The student needs to take medication but does not suffer from a life-threatening illness.
Residents are asked to search gardens, huts, and garages
Hassendorf is located about 40 kilometers east of Bremen. So far, no helicopter could be deployed due to weather conditions. The police are hoping for tips from the public and have therefore published a photo of the boy.
He is approximately 1.20 meters tall, has blonde hair, and wears a blue pair of glasses. At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing a light brown hoodie, an olive green shirt with black spots, a short camouflage pants, and blue sandals.
People in Hassendorf and the surrounding area are urged to search their gardens, garden huts, garages, as well as other possible hiding places. It is possible that the boy may be hiding there or may have gotten into a difficult situation, the police said. Unused buildings and barns should also be checked.
The search for the missing boy has involved local residents as well, who are urged to check their gardens, huts, and garages due to the possibility of him being in a difficult situation. Given his history of running away from home, it's important to also examine unused buildings and barns.
