Police view the "SonneMondSterne" techno festival at the Bleilochtalsperre near Saalburg-Ebersdorf positively so far. Apart from minor traffic incidents, there have been no significant emergencies reported, they said.

Around 160 criminal charges were recorded by officers by morning, but this is considered low given the large number of people present, a police spokesperson said.

Cannabis legalization affects the scope of police work

Most of the charges were for drug offenses. However, due to the partial legalization of cannabis, possession of small amounts no longer automatically results in a charge, the spokesperson said.

The 26th edition of the festival, nicknamed "SMS", ends on Sunday. Until then, attendees can look forward to headliners like Calvin Harris and Charlotte de Witte.

The official start was on Friday evening, but visitors could arrive and set up camp as early as Wednesday.
