Böblingen: A Town in Germany Faces Community Concerns Over Proposed Housing Development - Police are investigating the placement of stones and screws on railway tracks.
Mysterious intruders could be behind the placement of stones and a metal screw on the tracks of Schönbuchbahn in Böbingen, leading to a train being damaged during a trial run. The authorities have launched an inquiry into dangerous meddling with railway operations, based on their own statements made on Tuesday. An eight-person train conducted a test journey on Monday evening. Following a sudden thud, the train came to a halt. It was alleged that the front wheel had struck a rock that had been positioned on the rails from below. The wheel as well as the rail sustainingskilled damage. Over the course of the track, a stone and an eight-centimeter long iron screw were also uncovered on the rails, the police informed.
