Rostock Regional Court - Pleas in the fraud trial against ex-nursing home operator
In the trial against a former nursing home operator for alleged fraud in the millions, the pleadings are expected on Monday (from 9.30 a.m.) at Rostock District Court. A verdict may also be announced afterwards.
The 37-year-old has already been sentenced to four years in prison in an earlier trial and is currently serving this sentence in prison. The current trial, which has been ongoing since May of this year, involved allegations of particularly serious fraud involving millions of euros at the expense of health and care insurance companies.
The woman is alleged to have operated her facility in Krakow am See (Rostock district) between May 2013 and October 2015 without a responsible care manager. According to the indictment, she issued invoices totaling around 1.8 million euros to health and care insurance companies, which were paid almost in full.
In June 2022, the Rostock Regional Court sentenced the woman to four years in prison for deprivation of liberty, abuse of wards and fraud. The verdict became final in March of this year.
