Murder trial - Pleas expected in murder trial against 15-year-old
In the trial of a Darmstadt homeless man allegedly beaten to death, the pleadings are expected today (9:00 am). The 15-year-old main defendant confessed to the court. He was arrested shortly after the incident at the Darmstadt Luisenplatz in mid-November 2023. The public prosecutor accuses him of murder with base motives and robbery. He also confessed to having robbed the 57-year-old German man together with his 18-year-old brother earlier. The brother, who is also a defendant, admitted to the robbery. However, during the fatal blows, he was drunk on the Luisenplatz and was found in that condition. The brothers are Bulgarian citizens.
Surveillance cameras recorded the acts. The videos show two distinguishable persons attacking the 57-year-old in the night of November 15th. A short while later, one of the two is seen beating the man for four minutes and kicking and striking him against and on his head. According to the indictment, there were almost 90 blows or strikes.
