Germany's top-tier basketball league - Playmaker Callison remains crucial for Syntainics MBC.
The basketball team Syntainics MBC in the Basketball Bundesliga is counting on point guard Charles Callison again. The 29-year-old American has signed a new contract with the Weißenfels club for one more season. This information was shared by the team on Wednesday.
Martin Geissler, the managing director of MBC, said, "Having Charles for a third season is a big deal for our new and improved roster. He's one of the top ten players in his position in the league in my opinion, and the fact that he's extending his contract with us shows his loyalty to our team."
Besides renewing Callison's contract, Geissler has also signed Aleksa Kovacevic from the Serbian First League club KK Sloga Kraljevo to join them in the Bundesliga-13. The young 22-year-old player is already familiar to MBC fans as he played with a double license for their cooperation partner BSW Sixers during the 2022/2023 season in the ProB.
In the last season's game against Crailsheim, Kovacevic played as a replacement for Callison, who was injured, and made an important contribution to the 79:69 home win with his 11 points and 4 assists. Earlier this week, the MBC also brought in Latvian head coach Janis Gailitis.
