Plauen theater evacuated due to unclear smells
The Vogtlandtheater in Plauen was evacuated on Friday due to unusual odors. According to the city council, 30 people were affected. They were attended to by the emergency services, but did not complain of any complaints. Air measurements carried out by the fire department did indeed reveal abnormalities. The town hall press office was unable to provide details. The police are investigating possible causes, it said. To remedy the situation, the contaminated air was blown out of the building.
In such emergencies, municipalities often rely on the swift response of the emergency services. Given the unusual smells at the Plauen theater, the municipal authorities may need to implement extra safety measures in similar venues in the future.
