New building - Planning for Burg Giebichenstein University of Applied Sciences continues
The stalled plans to build a new building for the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle will be pursued further after all. As the university announced on Monday, there will be further talks on the implementation of the plans at the beginning of next year. "I am confident that we will find technically convincing solutions and construct an economically responsible new building," said the university's chancellor, Linda Baasch. The Ministry of Finance in Magdeburg had declared a previous design concept to be too expensive. The calculations had risen from 31 to more than 53 million euros. Around 1000 people from Germany and abroad study at Burg Giebichenstein.
