When you think of pistachios, many people immediately think of pistachio ice cream. However, the Pistaccio Street Food Festival 2024 in the Park am Gleisdreieck this weekend will show that there's so much more you can do with this nut. From Arepas with Mortadella and pistachios, Ceviche with pistachio kernels, pistachio Eclairs, Baklava, Churros with pistachio cream, Bao-Burgers with chicken and pistachios, Pasta and Gnocchi with pistachio pesto, Crepes and Cheesecake with pistachios, Tacos with pistachio guacamole, pistachio Cannoli - many culinary delights from a total of eight countries will be offered at the Jules B-Part stands.

According to the organizers, the consumption of pistachios in Germany and worldwide has significantly increased in recent years. This is also attributed to the growing awareness of the health benefits of this nut, which is rich in proteins, fiber, and antioxidants. The festival is organized by the Berlin project "True Italian" ("Authentic Italian"), which promotes the tradition of authentic Italian cuisine abroad. Visitors dressed entirely in green get in for free, as do children and young people up to 16 years old. All others pay four euros.

Visitors at the Pistaccio Street Food Festival will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of dishes beyond pistachio ice cream, such as Arepas with Mortadella and pistachios. The health benefits of food and drink options like pistachio-infused Eclairs, Churros with pistachio cream, and Bao-Burgers with chicken and pistachios are one reason for the recent increase in pistachio consumption worldwide.
