Exhibitions - Photo exhibition in Magdeburg state parliament dedicated to change
Photographic motifs from the past forty years bring viewers closer to the themes of continuity and change in a new exhibition in Magdeburg. Following the opening of "Saxony-Anhalt through the ages" on Thursday in the state parliament, the works of self-taught photographer Reinhard Storch will be on display until January 15, 2024.
According to the speaker of the state parliament, Storch is an old-school photographer. He developed all the images on display by hand in his darkroom and made prints on semi-gloss paper. None of the exhibited photos are therefore larger than DIN A4 format, it was said. The photographer documented selected motifs, conditions and situations with his camera every ten years. The result is a kind of journey through time, it was said.
Storch was reportedly born in 1951 in Lower Lusatia. He worked as an operations manager at the Morsleben repository from 1975 to 2017, and photography and development have always been his creative outlet.
Art exhibitions are regularly held in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. The aim is to strengthen the link between politics and culture and create a space for dialog and reflection. Visiting the exhibitions is always free of charge.
