Celebration or Gathering with Cultural Activities - Pfalzbau Theatres unveil forthcoming show lineup.
An evening featuring Bertolt Brecht with actor Lars Eidinger ("Sterben") and the Czechow adaptation "The Black Monk" directed by Kirill Serebrennikov of Thalia Theater Hamburg are some of the top events in the 2023/24 season at Ludwigshafen. Pfalzbau Theaters, the second biggest city in Rhineland-Palatinate, disclosed their program on a Friday and it is set to include 141 performances and 90 diverse productions.
The Ludwigshafen Festspiele will launch on October 12, featuring René Pollesch's last creation at the Berliner Volksbühne "Nothing is Okay" featuring Fabian Hinrichs who is popularly known for his detective role in the Franken "Tatort". Alongside that, the Burgtheater Wien will be staging "The Rape of the Sabine Women" and the Residenztheater München will present "Andersen's Fairy Tales". Tilman Gersch, the Intendant, is set to contribute as an in-house production with the comedy "The Coffeehouse" by Carlo Goldoni.
Once more, numerous international ensembles will be expanding their repertoire in dance in Ludwigshafen. The Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève will be performing "Ukiyo-e" during the festivals' opening. They have planned After-Show-Concerts, Readings, a "Word and Wine" series, and a Podiumsdiscussion to complete their program.
