Veteran political strategist Hank Sheinkopf says, "I'm not taking too many risks by saying that world leaders didn't enjoy Trump's presidency and his unpredictable foreign policies."
Sheinkopf, who has advised political campaigns in 14 different countries throughout his career, expands on this thought. "Europe trusts Biden and worries about the potential return of Trump, fearing the end of NATO and being unable to depend on the United States' nuclear protection and formidable military power. Asian leaders are also apprehensive about the consequences of Trump's aggressive approach towards China. For Latin American and African leaders, it's no secret that Trump was indifferent to their regions."
According to Sheinkopf, other than from a few far-right populists like Javier Milei in Argentina, uncertain politicians like Israel's Netanyahu, or authoritarian leaders like Viktor Orban in Hungary and Russia's Vladimir Putin, most world leaders desire Biden's re-election.
In light of global concerns like climate change and security, world leaders are justifiably urging the American people to consider the ramifications an additional four years of Biden could hold. Those in the middle, especially the 6% of would-be voters in crucial states, might find it worth considering the international assessment of the candidates.
The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, who endured a strained relationship with Trump, has been quite vocal about the potential dangers another Trump presidency might have on global climate initiatives. Additionally, Brazil's Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva publicly stated his hope that Biden would win the election, acknowledging Biden's role in preserving democracy domestically and internationally.
